Introducing Our New Logistics Facility in Griffin, GA

Late last year and early into this year we were keeping a little secret from you all 🤫. But, the cat is out of the bag, as we announced a few months back on LinkedIn how excited we were to have moved! So, we thought it would only be right that we formally introduce you all to our new location. Everyone, say hello to our new PEI logistics facility, located at 430 Melrose Avenue, in the charming small-southern town of Griffin, GA 30223 👋

Having previously operated in Stockbridge, GA, for almost 25 years we have now fully transitioned to Griffin, where we can further enhance our capabilities and better serve our wonderful customers 😊

Why Griffin, GA?

The choice to move to Griffin was quite an easy one for us. Although it was sad to say goodbye to Stockbridge after so many eventful years, it seemed like the right time for us to make a change. This fantastic facility became available, almost making it a no-brainer. While our Stockbridge operations were in a great location, this move enables us to optimize our operations with a larger facility. Oh, and not to forget to mention the amount of time we’ve shaved off of our staff commutes, they might love this new move even more than us, haha! But aside from the staff wellbeing, there are a ton more logistical benefits too. Let’s take a look.

Key Advantages of Our Griffin Location:

Continued access to major highways: Easy connectivity to I-75, as it is only 14 miles away from Griffin and the US-41 being only 0.3 miles from us, making our location great for regional and national distribution.

Expanded warehouse space: This extra space means more storage and processing capabilities to handle increasing volumes. Our new Griffin facility has a warehouse space of 22,000 sq feet with 2000 sq feet of office space, 4 docks doors and 1 oversized drive in door. Meaning we’ve gained approximately an extra 9000 sq feet of space compared to our Stockbridge facility.

Enhanced efficiency and operations: A larger facility means better organization and improved overall workflow from faster operations.

Proximity to major transportation links: Our old Stockbridge location was fantastic as it was super close to Atlanta, the hub of logistics. However, if you’re not familiar with the area look at Stockbridge and Griffin on a map, you’ll see that we really didn’t move that far away. Here are our new proximities to major transportation links from our Griffin site.

✈️ Atlanta Airport: 30.4 miles, approx. 48 minute drive

⚓️ Savannah Port: 219.6 miles, approx. 250 minute drive

🛤 Railroad: 16.7 miles, approx. 27 minute drive

We’re still conveniently near major transport links while enjoying the benefit of proximity without being surrounded by heavy traffic.

A Team Dedicated to Excellence

Another huge advantage we have, and what makes this location even greater is our A-team. Our fantastic workers, well we prefer the term “family” have stuck with us in our move from Stockbridge, we knew they would!

We have an extremely loyal team of people who make moving your freight possible, because at the end of the day the success of our logistics operations depends on our skilled and committed workers. We’re super grateful for every member of our PEI family 💙

What’s Next for PEI Griffin?

While we’ve already had a ton of fun flipping and remodelling the current office space in Griffin, since we moved in. We still have growth in mind, so we are exploring additional expansions to further accommodate our team and our operations. Keep a look out on our social medias, because you might just see some more changes from us coming soon!

As we moved in earlier this year, we’re fully settled into our new property now and we’re all super excited to continue serving our customers with the same level of great service we’ve always strived for 😁

Super Fun Fact About Our New Location

Here’s a fun fact for all of you TV and movie buffs out there. You might already know this, but GA is the home to a ton of filming. The city of Griffin and Spalding County, and in fact right near our new facility was used for some cool movie and TV series sets. You see, Griffin is a really cool place and our new facility is right next door to a cool abandoned mill from the early 1900’s. So our guess is that it catches the attention of location scouts. So much so, that some filming for The Walking Dead happened right on our doorstep. If you’re an eagle eyed fan you might even be able to spot our surrounding location in some Season 11 shots, although they added a lot of props and effects, so it doesn’t quite look the same as it does now!

Georgia has been bringing Hollywood to the South for some time now and we feel super lucky that a lot of filming goes on right on our doorstep! If you’re ever in the area, check out some of the filming spots and keep your eyes peeled, you never know you might see a Hollywood star.

From Stockbridge to Griffin but Still the Same PEI!

Now that you know all about our new facility, including some fun movie trivia. We want to round off by saying, although we’ve only moved 35 minutes down the road, the extra space we’ve gained at this new facility has opened a ton more doors for our business and our customers. We’ve still got the same great team of people who are committed to making sure your freight is moved as efficiently and safely as possible. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for us at this new location 😄
